"Your skills in meeting our needs, whether they involve philosophical understanding, policy development or board dynamics, has been proven, and your facilitation skills - from preparation through delivery to follow-through - are impressive."

The Aspen Group International, Inc.is a Leadership Development Company. We know boards. Whatever the issue, we have dealt with it.

Our work with boards has taken us to most of the 50 states and to three continents. During the past five years, our work has centered in Policy Governance®, created by John Carver. This model for governing excellence has proved to be the most viable vehicle for boards committed to lead, rather than micro-manage, the organizations they serve.

Our Objectives:
  • Meet your unique needs
  • Value and build long-term trust and relationships
  • Develop your leadership skills and teams

Our Vision: as a result of our efforts, boards will exercise their unique leadership roles as unified, effective and accountable governing bodies.

We have three basic objectives for each project we accept:
  1. Meet your unique needs. We carefully gain thorough insight into your complex challenges, concerns and issues, then design a process to address both surface and sub-surface issues within the context of your organizational culture.

  2. Value and build long-term trust and relationships. Time, money and morale are lost needlessly when organizations shift from one consultant and strategy to another. We work hard to coach your success and build long-term relationships that sustain continuous improvement.
  3. Develop your leadership skills and your teams. The board is a governing team-either a winning team or a losing one. The board and its CEO are the leadership team, with the same options. Our objective is to develop both teams to their highest levels of effectiveness.

We make four fundamental commitments to our clients. To:

  1. provide professional, practical, results-oriented training, facilitation and coaching

  2. provoke open, honest and frank discussion of your organization's deepest values
  3. challenge you to confront difficult performance issues and to rethink your role as individual leaders and as the collective team
  4. create with you a process to achieve excellence for your board, team and organization
Your board will:
  1. provide organizational vision through clearly defined outcomes
  2. work within a self-created and self-disciplined structure to ensure board
  3. performance and accountability
  4. empower your CEO to achieve the highest level of organization
    performance
  5. assure rigorous accountability through systematic monitoring and evaluation

We enter into contracts only after a thorough discussion to determine that our skills and services are compatible with your needs.
